FAQ - Reserve a Vehicle
How do I reserve a vehicle?
A booking is only confirmed when we receive a $500 deposit, the remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your pick up date. If the booking date falls within 30 days prior to the pickup date, then we will require full payment at the time of booking. Please contact our reservations department between 8 AM and 5 PM Monday to Saturday at 1-877-387-5250 (toll free within North America) or via email res@leisurerv.com.
When is full payment required?
Full payment is required 30 days prior to the pick up day.
Are the prices in CDN$ or in US$?
All prices are in CDN$.
Are taxes included in the prices?
The only tax that applies to your reservation in Alberta is GST (5%). In all other provinces, there will be PST also which varies from province to province. Prices quoted on the website are before GST, but when you are quoted a booking total by a company representative, it will include all taxes.
What papers do I require for renting the vehicle?
We require a valid driver's license (must be valid until the drop-off day) for all drivers. In addition, we require a passport for international guests or an ID card for our US guests. Driver must also have a major credit card.
Do I need an International Driver's license?
No. However, for translation purposes an International Driver's license will ensure ease of use in Canada and the United States .
Are there kilometer packages available and how much do they cost?
Yes. We offer two kilometer packages. You can upgrade to 160 km per night for an additional $15 per night OR 250 km per night for an additional $35 per night.
What does the extra kilometer cost if I go over?
The extra kilometer cost is $ 0.31
What type of gas mileage can I expect with my rental vehicle?
As numerous conditions affect gas mileage (wind, hills, speed, driving habits, etc.) fuel consumption will vary according to the conditions. As a rough "rule of thumb", you could budget about 25 litres/100 kilometres.
Can I travel into the USA with my rental vehicle?
Yes. There is a $10.00 charge for each night you spend in the USA. Simply call our toll free number at 1-877-387-5250 when you cross into the United States and call us again when you re-enter Canada. We will charge you for the nights spent in the USA when you drop-off your vehicle.
Please be aware that if you are traveling on documents other than those of Canadian or U.S. citizens, you will be required to pay a small fee of US$6.00 for your entry documents (I-94). This document is valid for multiple entries. You will also have a laser finger print taken of your index finger.
Please also note that U.S. Customs will not allow fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, and other groceries across the border. If you are planning on crossing into the USA we suggest you shop for your groceries once you are in the United States.
